Hungarian Sweet Paprika

Our Hungarian paprika, a staple in Hungary, features a bright red color with fruity notes and mild heat. Commonly known as “Édesnemes” in its home country, Hungarian paprika is the best all-purpose spice; making it essential in all pantries. This beautiful spice is often used as a seasoning for spice blends, sauces, marinades, poultry, and stews. My favorite dish I learned in culinary school was Hungarian Goulash (this will be linked to the recipe) where this paprika becomes the star in this dish. 

Grocery stores are typically one-dimensional when it comes to paprika. However, paprika is far more complex and has different varieties and origins. There are three types of paprika: generic mild grocery store paprika, Spanish paprika, and Hungarian paprika.
