The Malabar Peppercorn is a variety of black pepper that originates from the tropical region of present-day state of Kerala, India. Peppercorns grow on a vine and bear round, berry-like fruits called "drupes". They are picked while green, fermented, and sun-dried which produces the characteristic black wrinkled texture. Malabar peppercorns grow in the same region as the Tellicherry variety, but farmers pick them less close to ripeness, leading to a more pungent flavor.

Our Malabar Peppercorns are this years fresh harvest, and are a staple in any household kitchen. Our peppercorns come in a mill grinder, with a twist off cap that allows you to use them whole. Freshly grind this peppercorn onto steaks, salads, pastas, spice blends, and whatever your heart desires.

Ingredients: Whole Black peppercorn | Piper nigrum
